Prayers for educators and students
ACCS is coming up with a compilation of prayers from many different sources for schools to use. Schools are invited to share their best prayers i.e. morning prayers, harmony prayers, etc., preferably original prayers. For non-original prayers, please include your reference for copyright reasons. Please contact us.
Teacher's Prayer on the way to Class
Lord, help me to be concerned with the everyday life situations of this group of young people I am going to teach.
Help me to anticipate the problems they will face.
Help me Jesus, to develop in their hearts a genuine & abiding spirit of faith that will give them a strong sense of their worth and confidence in your unconditional love.
Lord have mercy on me. Make me a true disciple & a compassionate guide. Amen.
Prayer for Students
God of Light and Truth, thank you for giving me
a mind that can know and a heart that can love.
Help me to keep learning every day of my life,
for all knowledge leads to you.
Let me be aware of your presence in all things and at all times.
Encourage me when work is difficult and when I am tempted to give up;
encourage me when my brain seems slow and the way forward is difficult.
Grant me the grace to put my mind to use exploring the world you have created,
confident that in you there a wisdom that is real.

Prayer to Our Lady of Studies by Saint Thomas Aquinas
O Mary, Seat of Wisdom, so many persons of common intellect
have made through your intercession admirable progress in their studies.
I hereby choose You as guardian and patron of my studies.
I humbly ask You to obtain for me the grace of the Holy Spirit,
so that from now on I could
- understand more quickly,
- retain more readily, and
- express myself more fluently.
May the example of my life serve to honour You and your Son, Jesus.

For those who died in the earthquakes and typhoons and the aftermath:
Lord, as we mourn the sudden death of our brothers and sisters who died, comfort us with the great power of your love, and strengthen us in our faith that they are with you forever. We ask this in your name. Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace. Amen.
For those who are suffering due to the earthquakes and typhoons:
God, look upon those who suffer with kindness and mercy. Comfort them in their pain and make their faith stronger so that they may come to you in confidence of your loving care. We ask this in your name. Amen.
Obtain for us from God
An Invincible Faith,
A Burning Charity,
A Chaste Life,
And True Knowledge
